Barbara is married, and the mother of two grown girls. While the girls were young, Barb was a stay at home mom, active in PTA and as a Girl Scout leader for two troops. When her children were in school full time, she went back to college. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in education. After teaching 4th grade for several years, Barb has been an elementary substitute teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District for thirteen years.

The year of 2000 was a year of weddings forBarb. She helped her sister plan her wedding,held a friend’s wedding reception ather house and, with her daughter Julie, planned and organized Julie’s wedding. She so enjoyed helping these brides to fulfill their dreams for their wedding and reception, she decided to become a Certified Wedding Specialist.
